A 56-year-old man named Maksut Beytaş was shot and killed while withdrawing money from an ATM in the Karamürsel district of Kocaeli. The police have begun efforts to capture the assailant.
A person who was shot while withdrawing money from an ATM in the Karamürsel district of Kocaeli has died.
SHOT AFTER BEING APPROACHED
The incident occurred around 12:30 PM in the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard of the 4th of July neighborhood in Karamürsel. Maksut Beytaş was attacked by an unidentified suspect who approached him as he was waiting in line at the ATM. As the bullets hit Beytaş, he collapsed to the ground, and the suspect fled the scene.
DIED AT THE SCENE
Upon notification from the surrounding people to the 112 Emergency Call Center, health and police teams were dispatched to the address. Medical personnel determined that Maksut Beytaş had died. After the examination, Beytaş's body was taken to the morgue for autopsy procedures.
Meanwhile, it was observed that one of the bullets hit the glass of the shopping center next to the ATM. The police have initiated an operation to capture the suspect.
