A new era is beginning for taxis in Istanbul. In the UKOME meeting, the requirement for more than 50% local production in vehicle changes has been removed.

A new era for taxis in Istanbul officially begins.

50% CONDITION REMOVED

Taxi plate owners who want to change their vehicles can now attach their plates to different brands and models. Additionally, the requirement for 50% local content in taxis has been removed in the UKOME meeting. Thus, vehicles in the C segment, which have a local content requirement of more than 50%, will now have a usage condition of 6 years with annual accrual after the first purchase (0 kilometers).

ACCUMULATION CONDITION INTRODUCED AFTER THE 6TH YEAR

For vehicles with a local content rate of more than 50%, the first purchase will have an accumulation condition after the 6th year of use for vehicles aged 0-2 years. The age limit has been determined as 9 years. On the other hand, the proposal to attach plates to B segment cars was not accepted.
