The tragic fate of a mother of three has come to light in a case heard at the Old Bailey Court in London. The lifeless body of 37-year-old NHS worker Natalie Shotter was found in a park in the early hours of July 17, 2021. Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC stated in court that Shotter's body was discovered hours later by a passerby. Morgan said, "The cause of Natalie’s death was initially unclear. There were no obvious signs of injury on her body, and there was no one with her." Mohamed Iidow, a 35-year-old homeless man arrested in connection with the incident, denied charges of rape and murder. In court, it was expressed that Shotter was vulnerable due to drug use, alcohol addiction, and mental health issues. Prosecutor Morgan stated, "That night, Natalie was out for entertainment and was abused by the defendant. She lost her life as a result of the defendant's repeated acts of rape." CCTV footage showed Shotter walking the streets on the night of the incident and dancing with a group of people. The prosecution noted that Shotter had consumed alcohol and legal drugs, but these did not directly cause her death. Jury members were informed that more CCTV footage showing the moment the defendant Mohamed attacked in the park would be shown. The hearing is ongoing.
