Cevat Bozkurt, the lawyer of the complainant, spoke about the murder of two women of Uzbek nationality in Ümraniye, Istanbul, saying, "On the night of the 23rd to the 24th, Ms. Sayyora is murdered, her body is dismembered and thrown into different containers. The suspects empty the suitcase and return home, and by sending a message from Ms. Sayyora's phone to Ms. Durdona, they call her to the house as well," sharing striking details about the murders.

The body of Durdona Khakımova, a citizen of Uzbekistan, was found dismembered in a trash container in Şişli. The arrested suspects, D.A.U.T. and G.A.K., who are also citizens of Uzbekistan, were revealed to have killed Sayyora Ergashaliyeva (32) in their home in Ümraniye. The suspects were taken to the courthouse by the police. The duty judge decided to arrest the two suspects for "premeditated murder with monstrous feelings and torture."

FAMILY FILED A MISSING PERSON REPORT

Sayyora Ergashaliyeva, a mother of two, has a family living in Uzbekistan. After not hearing from their daughter since January 23, they reached out to the Uzbek Women's Rights Association in Turkey. The association's president, Azade İslamova, and lawyers Ezgi Ekin Arslan and Cevat Bozkurt met with the family and provided information on what they could do regarding the suspicion that Durdona Khokimova was found dead in the house. Subsequently, the family, who arrived in Turkey on February 5, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office on February 6. During the deepened investigation into the murder of Durdona Khokimova and the disappearance of the young woman, it was revealed that the young woman was also brutally murdered.

The lawyers stated, "The same suitcase, which carried the two bodies, is being investigated by the police. Nearly 400 tons of waste separation has been carried out. The suspects met between 15-20 days, and we do not believe that they could have killed two women with just 15 days of acquaintance. On January 22, Sayyora called a friend from Uzbekistan, saying, 'I am not happy, buy a ticket, I will return.' Then the perpetrator called this friend, saying, 'She will continue to stay,' followed by the tragic event. Until our applications, they were not aware of the existence of the second woman. We want to know if other women have been in contact with these perpetrators and if there are any missing cases. Perhaps other female murders will also come to light," they expressed.

"IF WE HAD BEEN 5 MINUTES LATE, THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE BODY WOULD NOT BE FOUND"

Starting his words, lawyer Cevat Bozkurt said, "The family arrived on the 5th, and on the 6th, we filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office to carry out the necessary procedures." He continued, "After we reported, investigations began. Initially, she was being searched for as a missing person, then the suspects were taken for questioning, and unfortunately, they confessed that they had killed Ms. Sayyora. The information we received is that Ms. Sayyora was murdered on the night of the 23rd to the 24th, and then the suspects dismembered the body. Part of the body was thrown into a trash container near their residence, while the remaining part was discarded in a container in the Fatih district. After emptying the suitcase they took, they returned home with the suitcase. They sent a message from Ms. Sayyora to Ms. Durdona to come. According to the information we received, about 5 minutes after the collector found Ms. Durdona's body, if they had been 5 minutes later, there was a possibility that Ms. Durdona's body would not have been found either. Because there was information that a garbage truck was coming behind. As soon as the police heard this, they stopped the collection. They think it is only a murder case because they could not find any part belonging to another body in the suitcase in the trash container. Until our applications, they were not aware of the existence of any second woman. Later, it was revealed during the interrogation, so they deepened the investigation," he stated.

"THE FAMILY REACHED OUT 2 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST MURDER"

Azade İslamova, the president of the Uzbek Women's Rights Association, reported that the family reached out to them after the murder of Durdona Khokimova, saying, "Two days later, her family contacted me, speculating that 'Our daughter is missing, she might be there.' We told them what needed to be done. While they were filing a missing person report from there, we wanted to check if our daughter was included in the case file with her passport information along with our lawyers, but they said there was no news due to a confidentiality order. We requested the family to come here; we cannot do this process without you. The family is going through a very heavy process. We are providing both psychological and legal support. The occurrence of two murders in one day has frightened us as well. Their only request is, 'How will we go to Uzbekistan if there is a body? We will not leave without reaching her; we will wait, we want her to be found,'" she stated.
