The son of former minister Abdüllatif Şener, Bedirhan Şener, who killed his grandmother by shooting her in Ankara, has been transferred to Bilkent City Hospital High Security Forensic Psychiatry Hospital.

Bedirhan Şener, who took his grandmother Leyla Çetiner hostage with a gun after a dispute between them last night and then killed her, was brought to the courthouse after being taken into custody. Şener was subjected to judicial control and a travel ban by the judge.

UNDER SURVEILLANCE FOR 3 WEEKS

Bedirhan Şener, whose mental health is said to be unstable and who underwent a forensic medical examination in the detention center, was transferred to Bilkent City Hospital High Security Forensic Psychiatry Hospital and will be under surveillance for 3 weeks.

UNABLE TO GIVE STATEMENT

After the report is prepared on whether the surveillance period for Şener will be extended or not, a decision will be made. It was learned that Bedirhan Şener, who could not give a statement, had a large number of psychiatric drugs found during the search of his house, and a murder case related to the incident will be opened. If his condition can be treated at a manageable level, his sentence will be converted into imprisonment and he will be sent to prison.

Meanwhile, Abdüllatif Şener made a new statement about the incident. Şener said, "The incident that occurred yesterday deeply affected our family. I would like to thank all our friends who expressed their condolences and shared our grief, to whom I could not respond. Along with other problems, my son Bedirhan has experienced psychological problems due to years of unemployment. Later, when he worked as a parliamentary staff in the party group; when some media members turned his being hired as the lowest paid employee in the Parliament into a means of settling scores with me, this situation exacerbated his psychological problems.

Due to his poor health and not answering our calls, we went to my son Bedirhan's house last night with my wife Berrin and his mother, worried about his life. While I was busy parking the car, my wife and his mother went up to my son's apartment, rang the doorbell, and as soon as he opened the door, he started shooting at them, and the unfortunate incident occurred.
