After Trabzonspor, Galatasaray also applied to the TFF for the postponement of the Super Cup match. On the other hand, it was stated that Fenerbahçe inquired about the process but has not yet made an official application.
After Trabzonspor applied to postpone the Turkcell Super Cup, which will be held on January 5-6, to a later date determined by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Galatasaray also made a move.
GALATASARAY ALSO APPLIED FOR POSTPONEMENT
Following Trabzonspor, Galatasaray also applied to the TFF for the postponement of the Super Cup match. The yellow-reds stated that they wanted the match to be played at a later date. It was also noted that Fenerbahçe, which will face Samsunspor, inquired about the process but has not yet made an official application.
REASONS FOR REQUESTING POSTPONEMENT REVEALED
The reasons for the cancellation request included adverse weather conditions, the scheduling of the matches, and the clubs going through a difficult period in terms of squad. Additionally, the low interest of fans in the matches was highlighted as one of the most important factors.
In the semi-final of the 2025 Turkcell Super Cup, which will be held for the first time with its new format, Galatasaray will face Trabzonspor on Monday, January 5, and Fenerbahçe will meet Samsunspor on Tuesday, January 6. Despite the tickets being put on sale, it was reported that only 5,000 tickets for the Galatasaray - Trabzonspor match have been sold so far, and fans have not shown the expected interest in the matches.
