At the 68th Ordinary General Assembly of the Ankara Bar Association, a verbal exchange began between the members of the Libertarian Contemporary Lawyers (ÖÇAV) and the Turkish Nationalist Lawyers Group. With the exchange quickly escalating, punches were thrown, and chairs were hurled. As a result of the scuffle, one lawyer was injured in the head. At the 68th Ordinary General Assembly of the Ankara Bar Association, a fight broke out between the members of the Libertarian Contemporary Lawyers (ÖÇAV) and the Turkish Nationalist Lawyers Group. One lawyer was injured in the head. During the general assembly, female lawyers who are members of ÖÇAV displayed banners reading "Jin, Jîyan, Azadî" (Women, Life, Freedom) and "The Istanbul Convention Saves Lives" in response to the recent increase in violence against women and femicides. During this time, the lawyers chanted slogans such as "Jin, Jîyan, Azadî", "Women, Life, Freedom", and "We will not be silent, we will not be afraid, we will not obey". CHAIRS WERE THROWNLawyers identified as members of the Turkish Nationalist Lawyers Group responded with slogans such as "We do not want terrorists in the Bar". The ÖÇAV lawyers then chanted slogans like "Shoulder to shoulder against fascism". Although announcements were made to calm the tension, the situation did not settle down, and the meeting was adjourned for 20 minutes. After the break, the general assembly resumed.
