Attack on Derya Uluğ at the concert!

30.05.2025 09:30

During her concert in Şanlıurfa, Derya Uluğ was attacked when a water bottle was thrown at her while she was singing on stage. Sharing her experience with the words, "Thank goodness for my goalkeeper reflexes," the artist had also faced a frightening moment last month when she encountered an obsessive fan who attended her concert despite a restraining order.

The Şanlıurfa Cultural Route Festival continues with its colorful events, and on the fifth day of the festival, the famous singer Derya Uluğ faced an unfortunate incident. Thousands of music lovers attended the concert held in the historical atmosphere of the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum.

Throughout the concert, Derya Uluğ captivated the audience with her energy and performance, but an unexpected event occurred while she was singing her hit songs on stage. A person from the crowd threw a water bottle towards the stage. Thanks to her quick reflexes, the artist avoided being hit and continued her performance without interruption, maintaining her professionalism.

"THANKS TO MY GOALKEEPER REFLEXES"

After this unpleasant incident, Derya Uluğ expressed her love for the people of Urfa in a statement on her social media account, saying:

"One person's mistake could not overshadow the beauty of the night and Urfa. I hope no one has to experience such moments or cause them. Thanks to my goalkeeper reflexes."

LAST MONTH'S OBSESSIVE FAN NIGHTMARE

This recent incident brought back another security issue the artist faced in the recent past. Last month, Derya Uluğ's obsessive fan, Şinasi Samed Türkmen, who had become a nightmare for her for 1.5 years, attended her concert in İzmir on May 3, despite having a restraining order against him. Sitting at the front table of the venue, Türkmen watched Uluğ, and he was detained and arrested upon the artist's report. Derya Uluğ described that night in her statement, saying, "While I was on stage, I saw him at the table right in front of me. I informed the head of security. I continued to do my job in fear and stayed on stage. I am the complainant and the plaintiff." An indictment was prepared based on the artist's statement, and a case was opened against the obsessive fan.

SECURITY MEASURES MUST BE REVIEWED

These consecutive incidents have reopened the discussion about the security vulnerabilities faced by performing artists. Especially the ineffective implementation of restraining orders and the inability to prevent individual attacks in concert venues pose a serious risk for both artists and audiences.
