A new statement has come from MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding the 'TRÇ Alliance' he mentioned recently. Bahçeli said, "Turkey has urgent security needs. On the other hand, the world's economic production has shifted to the east, to far Asia. If some of our NATO allies can overlook our most vital priorities and demands, it is time for Turkey to look in both directions in a manner consistent with its historical vision."
The Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, recently evaluated the proposal for a 'TRÇ alliance' consisting of Turkey, Russia, and China, which he brought to the agenda, with İsmail Faruk Aksu, the President of the Turkish Academy of Political Social Strategic Research Foundation and MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Economic and Social Policies.
Bahçeli, who made evaluations regarding the content of the Turkey-Russia-China (TRÇ) alliance proposal, stated, "While answering this question, it would be beneficial to go back a little and evaluate the developments that have occurred. Since the end of the Cold War, there has always been talk of a New World Order. However, despite reaching the end of the first quarter of the 21st century, there is still no order based on any law or regulation. From the 1990s to the present, there has been a continuous stream of bilateral disputes and conflicts, regional wars, crises, massacres, migrations, and other humanitarian disasters. It has long been said that the international system has an anarchic structure, and this is true, but the current situation indicates a complete state of chaos." he said.
"NETANYAHU DECLARES WAR ON 6 STATES"
Bahçeli continued his remarks as follows:
The genocide and humanitarian drama occurring in Gaza are among the most recent and evident examples of this. The Netanyahu government is not only committing crimes against humanity in Gaza but is also virtually declaring war on the 6 surrounding states and attacking them. (Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Qatar) It is also engaging in aggressions that could set the entire region on fire. In these audacious attacks, not only innocent civilians but also high-ranking state officials, negotiation teams, army commanders, scientists, diplomats, or journalists can be targeted and killed. While all this is happening, the Trump administration, which came to power with the promise of ending wars, is fully supporting Israel's lawless actions. All of this is taking place right next to Turkey and brings serious conflict risks along with it.
DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA
Look, there has been a change of government in Syria; a 53-year-old totalitarian regime has been overthrown, and the overwhelming majority of the Syrian people welcomed this development with a festive atmosphere. The new Syrian regime has declared its desire to be a democratic republic rather than an ideological state. The leader Ahmed El Şara, who led this change of government, stated that they have learned from past mistakes, believe in democracy, and oppose discrimination based on religion, language, and sect, but for this, there must be unity in the country. Nevertheless, various actors, primarily Israel, have played all kinds of games to stir up the Mediterranean coastal region of Syria, the Deraa-Suweida line in the south, and the northeastern territories.
They are making every effort to create a second Israel in northeastern Syria. They are also trying to enslave the people living in this region through oppression and persecution. So, what could be more natural than a state's leaders wanting unity and solidarity? What could be more natural than saying a state must have an army and a capital? Yet all of this is being ignored, and it is as if a new Syria is being denied the right to exist.
"ISRAEL INCITING THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION SDG"
I ask: while all this is happening, what are the US, the West, and Israel doing, who have claimed for years to target the Assad regime? They are opening a new page of instability every day. As if occupying the Golan is not enough, they are also occupying beyond that. They are conducting air operations in the territories of the new Syria. They are inciting and manipulating the terrorist organization SDG to prevent it from being included in the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process that started in Turkey. They do not hesitate to support circles and developments that threaten Turkey's national security, sovereignty rights, and the peace of our citizens.
All these developments are taking place just south of our longest land border. As is known, after the treacherous coup attempt in 2016, Turkey has demonstrated through four major operations in Syrian territory that all these efforts are actually in vain and has made them pay the price. However, some still insist on not learning, nurturing not peace and tranquility but conflict and chaos. There is also discomfort with the idea that a terror-free Turkey will build a terror-free and stable region.
On the other hand, there has been a Russia-Ukraine war in the north of Turkey since 2022. Both states are countries with very close relations to Turkey, and Turkey wishes for this war to end as soon as possible. The world is witness that many steps have already been taken in this direction. However, the current state of the world is far from providing enough hope in this regard. Throughout history, Turkey has shown interest in the plight of oppressed nations around the world and has tried to help them whenever it could. It has not acted solely in a way that protects only its own kin or co-religionists. The most striking example of this is the embrace extended to the Jews expelled from Spain during the Ottoman period.
TURKEY HAS OVERCOME ONE-DIMENSIONAL FOREIGN POLICY
Turkey is a nation-state. However, it is also a remnant of an empire. In our call, there is a symbol of a double-headed eagle. What we mean by this is that we look to both the East and the West, and we see both directions. Turkey has long surpassed a one-dimensional, monochromatic, and single-vector foreign policy. It has interests, knowledge, and expectations regarding a wide area from Latin America to the Pacific. Today, most of the world’s states agree that there is an unjust international system that is not fair to the overwhelming majority of humanity. The international legal order represented in the legal personality of the UN cannot bring peace and security to humanity, yet reform demands in the UN cannot be realized.
The statement of our esteemed President that 'The World is Bigger than Five!' is meaningful and true. There must be absolute changes in the structure of the Security Council in the UN and the nature of the veto power. However, it should be noted that Turkey alone is not the one to put these calls into action. In fact, it is a fact that Turkey's stable and persistent initiatives have created awareness and similar voices are rising.
WHY 'TRÇ ALLIANCE'
MHP Chairman Bahçeli explained why he felt the need to make such a statement in light of the developments he described with the following words:
"Turkey has urgent security needs. Turkey is a state that desires the territorial integrity of its neighbors more than anyone else and has paid the heaviest prices for it. It is also capable of facing all actors who fight against this with proxy warfare elements, petro-dollar politics, and lobbying. However, for more lasting and long-term stability and security regionally, it depends on the solidarity of regional states and agreements on fundamental principles.
The Eurasia region has been a battleground throughout history.
This area has historically been referred to as the axis region, pilot region, and heartland region. However, there has been no doubt that dominance over Eurasia is the most important stage of global dominance. Eurasia is the combination of Europe and Asia. At its center lies the Caspian Basin. The Caspian Basin is a contiguous area for Turkey. Turkey is the transit country for the hydrocarbon resources flowing from this basin. It is influenced by this region and exerts influence on it.
On the other hand, the world's economic production has shifted eastward, to far Asia. The total production in countries such as Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Pakistan, and even Vietnam has surpassed and multiplied that of Western countries. Reversing this trend does not seem possible for now. Asian production, which used to manifest itself in limited areas and imitation products, has now evolved to include the highest quality, technology-intensive products.
IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL WEST-RUSSIA STRUGGLE BEHIND THE SCENES
In the northern sector of the world, Russia continues to exist as a military and political power despite all the upheavals. It has demands from the West such as 'not expanding NATO, not having military buildups near Russian borders, and not harming the existence of Russians outside Russia.' Of course, these demands do not justify the occupation of Ukrainian territory. However, it is also common knowledge that there is a more multi-dimensional West-Russia struggle behind the scenes.
The center of Eurasia is the Turkic World. Today, there is an international actor known as the Organization of Turkic States in this region. It has five permanent members and three observer members. These states wish to walk together into the future. Among them is Turkey, which is a NATO member, as well as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, which are members of both the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Likewise, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are also members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It is also known that Russia and China are at the center of these powerful structures.
The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) could become a center of attraction and power in the struggle between the West, Russia, and China. For this, it is essential that the three powers of the Eurasian geography come together on equal terms. These are Turkey, the Russian Federation, and the People's Republic of China.
EQUAL PARTNERSHIP IN EURASIAN GEOGRAPHY
With the establishment of such a common ground, the CIS, SCO, and OTS will be able to restore the world to a new order with an understanding that respects each other's rights and existence, and adheres to the principles of sovereign equality of states and the rule of law. In this process, no sovereign state should be expected to operate in the orbit of another state. Equal partnership must be the case for the construction of a prosperous and peaceful region in the Eurasian geography. The primary goal here is political consultation and cooperation, along with multi-dimensional economic collaboration. However, if the current state of chaos in international security persists, the security dimension of this unity will inevitably come to the forefront.
IT IS TIME FOR TURKEY TO LOOK IN BOTH DIRECTIONS IN A BALANCED MANNER
If Turkey's NATO membership cannot go beyond protecting Turkey from potential attacks that may come from within NATO, and if some of our NATO allies can overlook our most vital priorities and demands, and if there is a serious public reaction at this point, it is time for Turkey to look in both directions in a balanced manner, in line with its historical vision.
