The autopsy procedures for Berivan Bozan, who lost her life after being swept away by water in a creek while playing in Izmir, are ongoing at the Forensic Medicine morgue. The grieving father said, "A week ago, she said, 'Dad, you promised me earrings.' I replied, 'Alright, my girl, I will get them for you. I promise I will get them when you move to the third grade.' I went and bought them early when I had the money. I had just bought them a week ago; she could only wear them for a week."

The father of 10-year-old Syrian Berivan Bozan, who drowned after being swept away by the water of a stream in the Torbalı district of İzmir, Hamed Bozan, shared the pain he is experiencing.

The autopsy procedures for Berivan Bozan, who entered the Fetrek Stream in the Çaybaşı neighborhood to play and lost her life after being swept away, are ongoing at the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution. Hamed Bozan, 32, who came to collect his daughter's body, expressed his sorrow over losing his daughter in a tearful statement to reporters.

"TOMORROW OTHER CHILDREN MAY ALSO BE LOST"

Father Bozan, who requested the authorities to put up a fence around the stream, said, "Today my daughter is gone, tomorrow other children may also be lost. May God not let this happen to anyone. My heart is broken. What is the need for other lives to be lost? We adults understand, but children do not; they are children. Because they are children, they know nothing. They know how to play," he said.

HE DID NOT DROP THE EARRINGS HE BOUGHT FOR HIS DAUGHTER

Hamed Bozan stated that his daughter asked him for earrings, saying, "A week ago she said, 'Dad, you promised me earrings.' I said, 'Okay, my girl, I will get them for you. I promise I will get them when you move to the third grade.' I went and bought them early when I had money. I had bought them exactly a week ago; she was able to wear them for a week," he said.

Father Bozan, who said, "My heart is broken. May God not let this happen to anyone," continued:

"Everyone should take care of their children. Are they playing outside? You look, and they have disappeared from your sight. They told me she fell at 5:30 PM. I was there in half an hour. The fire department and everyone had come and did what they could. She was found four kilometers away. God gave, God took. What bothers me is that if there had been a fence there, the child would have said, 'This place is forbidden.' What does a 10-year-old child understand?"

Bozan added that his daughter used to make him coffee every day and that he would not drink coffee anymore from now on.
