Famous singer Berkay, known for his songs like "Gel Gel" and "Yaz," and his wife Özlem Ada Şahin have started renovations after purchasing a new home. The couple has been living in the royal suite of a luxury hotel for about three months. Berkay commented on the situation, saying, "We have been staying at the hotel for 3 months; our house is under renovation."
"You Are Here" and "My Story" are songs known by Berkay, who, along with his wife Özlem Ada Şahin, made a new investment by purchasing a villa in Zekeriyaköy. The couple postponed their moving plans due to the ongoing renovation process and preferred to stay in the royal suite of a luxury hotel until the renovation is completed.
Having lived in a hotel for about 3 months, Berkay told the press, "Our house is under renovation, that's why we are staying in a hotel." In response to a reporter's question, "Are you really staying in a royal suite?" he replied, "We are staying in a place that is sufficient for us."
Following this statement, Berkay's income also came into the spotlight. Previously, in a lawsuit filed after a disagreement with Arda Turan, the singer had stated that his monthly income was 1000 TL. Turan, on the other hand, claimed that his monthly earnings were 300 thousand euros.

When Berkay's income declaration became a topic of discussion, his lawyer Ayşegül Mermer made a statement. Mermer expressed the following:
"My client's income from copyright exceeds 200 thousand TL per month. The reason for declaring a lower amount is to consider that the majority of the society lives on minimum wage. This should not be misunderstood; there is no intention to mislead the court or the judge. This is not a criminal or civil case."
