A march will be held on the Galata Bridge with the slogan "We Will Not Be Silent, We Will Not Be Quiet, We Will Not Forget Palestine" to draw attention to Israel's inhumane and illegal attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire. This year, the third march will take place, organized by the National Will Platform, starting at 08:30 on January 1st. Due to the march, some roads in the megacity will be closed to traffic.
Since October 7, 2023, tens of thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives in Israel's inhumane and illegal attacks on Gaza. A large march will be organized in Istanbul to draw attention to these heinous attacks and raise public awareness.
The march, which will be held for the third time this year, will be organized by the National Will Platform. Various unions, football clubs, and nearly 400 civil society organizations have also called for a gathering at the Galata Bridge tomorrow.
TENS OF THOUSANDS WILL MARCH AT GALATA BRIDGE TOMORROW MORNING
The march will take place on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Galata Bridge. It has been reported that the event will be organized under the slogan "We Will Not Be Silent, We Will Not Be Quiet, We Will Not Forget Palestine," aiming to strengthen social sensitivity and increase international awareness towards the Palestinian people.

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS FROM THE GOVERNORATE
The Istanbul Governorate announced the roads that will be closed to traffic and alternative routes due to New Year's precautions on December 31 and in connection with the march for Palestine to be held at Galata Bridge on January 1.
According to the statement from the governorate, the roads to be closed to traffic and alternative routes have been determined due to New Year's precautions in Beyoğlu, Şişli, Beşiktaş, and Kadıköy on December 31, and the "Turkey Youth Foundation March Program" that will take place in Fatih and Beyoğlu on January 1, 2026.
As part of the New Year's precautions, the following streets will be closed to traffic in Beyoğlu starting from 14:00 on December 31 until the end of the program: İstiklal, Takı Zafer, Asmalı Mescit, Atıf Yılmaz, Yeni Çarşı, Turnacıbaşı, Hamalbaşı, İlk Belediye, Yolcuzade İskender, and Sadi Konuralp streets, as well as Dünya Sağlık, Osmanlı, Zambak, Balo, Meşelik, Sadri Alışık, Aslan Yatağı, Ensiz, and Postacılar streets, along with Kumbaracı and Kazancı slopes, and all streets and avenues leading to these roads, the section between Sıraselviler Street Hocazade Street and Taksim Square, and the section between Meşrutiyet Street Karayel Street and Hamalbaşı Street will be closed to traffic.
Refik Saydam Street and Tarlabaşı Boulevard towards Taksim will also not allow vehicle traffic as of 22:00.
As an alternative to these roads, the following streets can be used: Meclis-i Mebusan, Mete, İnönü, Kemeraltı, Tersane, and Evliya Çelebi streets, along with Refik Saydam Street and Tarlabaşı Boulevard towards Unkapanı.
In Şişli, Mim Kemal Öke and Abdi İpekçi streets, as well as Bostan, Atiye, Altın, and Prof. Dr. Fevzi Fevzioğlu streets, along with all streets leading to these roads, will be closed from 14:00 until the end of the program.
As an alternative to these roads, drivers will be directed to Teşvikiye, Valikonağı, Rumeli, Halaskargazi, and Cumhuriyet streets.
In Beşiktaş, Palanga Street, Kırbaç, Kireçhane, and Alay Emini streets, along with all streets leading to these roads, will be closed, while Yeşilpınar and Yol streets, as well as Ahmet Adnan Saygun Street, can be used.
In Kadıköy, starting from 14:00 until the end of the program, Bahariye, General Asım Gündüz, Albay Faik Sözdener, and Mühürdar streets, along with Badem Altı, Leylek, Tuğlacı Emin Bey, and Caddebostan İskele streets, will be closed to traffic.
Citizens can alternatively use Söğütlüçeşme, Dr. Esat Işık, and Rıhtım streets, as well as Çetin Emeç Boulevard and Abdulkadir Noyan Street.
ROADS TO BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES ON JANUARY 1
To say "stop" to the massacre in Palestine, the National Will Platform will hold a march at Galata Bridge on January 1, where traffic flow will also be disrupted on some roads.
In this context, Galata Bridge and all streets leading to this road will be closed to traffic as of 22:00 on December 31.
In Fatih, starting from 03:00 until the end of the program, Ragıp Gümüşpala, Reşadiye, Ankara, Ebu Suud, Divanyolu, and Alemdar streets, along with all streets leading to these roads, will not allow traffic flow in the section between the intersection of Sahil Kennedy Street and Aksakal Street and the intersection of Reşadiye Street.
Atatürk Boulevard and Unkapanı Bridge can also be used as alternative routes to these roads.
In Beyoğlu, starting from 03:00 until the end of the program, Alageyik and Yüksek Kaldırım streets, along with all streets leading to these roads, will be closed to traffic in the section between the intersection of Bankalar, Tersane, Necatibey, Kemeraltı streets and the intersection of Meclisi Mebusan Street and Dolmabahçe Gazhane Street.
Drivers can alternatively prefer Refik Saydam Street, Meclis-i Mebusan Street towards Dolmabahçe, and Unkapanı Bridge.
TRAM SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS
On the T1 Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line, there will be no service between Kabataş and Sultanahmet stations starting from 22:00 on December 31. On January 1, 2026, there will also be no service between Kabataş and Beyazıt stations from 03:00 until the end of the program.
On the T5 Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram Line, there will be no service between Küçükpazar and Eminönü stations from 03:00 on January 1, 2026, until the end of the program.
