On the day of the incident, he threatened, 'I will kill you, then I will kill myself.' I deeply regret having built a life with such a person."
The incident occurred on Saturday, December 13, around 2:00 PM in Çağlayan. According to reports, Yağmur Serin E. separated from Bilal E. due to severe incompatibility and obtained a restraining order against him. After moving in with her family, Yağmur Serin E. took her children home to see their father, who was in the process of divorce. After the children entered the house, Bilal E. approached Yağmur Serin E. and said he wanted to talk. When she refused, he insisted and waited outside for a while.
HE ASSAULTED THE WOMAN AND POINTED A GUN AT HER HEAD Bilal E. then began to assault the woman by pinning her against the back of a car. In front of witnesses, he kicked and punched her while also verbally abusing her. During the incident, as some citizens attempted to intervene, Bilal E. drew his weapon. He pointed the gun at the woman's head and then threatened the bystanders. After running away down the street, Bilal E. disappeared from sight. The moments when the woman cried out, "Call the police, help me," were captured by security cameras.
THE AGGRESSIVE HUSBAND WAS ARRESTED After the incident, Yağmur Serin E. went to the police station to file a complaint against her husband Bilal E., leading the police to apprehend him. After being taken into custody and giving his statement at the police station, Bilal E. was brought to court. He was arrested on charges of 'intentional injury,' 'violation of the firearms law,' and 'threatening and insulting.'
"I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT" Describing her experiences, Yağmur Serin E. said, "I met my husband in January 2024. We had a relationship. I was raped; he was using drugs. Then I found out I was pregnant. He was afraid I would report him. He wanted to marry me, deceived me, and we got married. Then the violence started. His drug use continued all the time. I always stayed silent for my child. Then my child was born. He continued to do it. When he got involved, he tended to be violent. His family witnessed this too. They always knew he was abusing me, hitting me, and yelling at me. They would say something, but he never listened to them. He yelled at his father and mother in the same way. Then I went to my father's house. I told him I wanted to separate. I filed for divorce. I obtained a restraining order."
"FIRST I WILL KILL YOU THEN MYSELF" Yağmur Serin E. stated, "He came to my father's house, banging on doors, breaking windows, then sending me threats, messages, pictures, and gun images. A few days ago, I took my daughter. The next day, I spoke with her sister. She told me to bring her. I took my daughter. I didn't know she was home. If I had known, I would never have gone. I handed her over at the door, from the taxi. After that, he caught me. He pulled me aside. He pointed a gun at my head. He started threatening me, saying, 'You will either come and sit at your house, or I will kill you, then I will kill myself.' A woman who saw us from the window distracted him by saying, 'Let the girl go.' At that moment, I started running up, like in the cameras. Then he tried to take my phones so I wouldn't call the police or inform anyone. When I didn't allow it, he first headbutted me, then started hitting me. He pulled out the gun. He approached me and pointed the gun at people who wanted to help me, saying, 'Don't come closer, I have a gun, I will shoot.' I couldn't do anything. I just had to scream, 'Call the police.'
"I REGRET BUILDING A LIFE WITH SUCH A PERSON" Yağmur Serin E. said, "I hope no one ends up in my situation. I didn't know he was such a person. He wasn't like that at first. He changed later. I don't want anyone to live such a life. I never thought I would end up like this. May God be our helper. He is currently inside. I am still dealing with the police and the prosecutor's office, going there. I am providing them with the threats and complaints he made against me. It could have been someone else in my place; it could have been your daughter or a relative. I can't find a word to say. I want the one who deserves it to receive the punishment they deserve. I deeply regret that I built a life with such a person. I am very sorry for having built a life with such a person."
