With the enactment of the bill known to the public as the 11th Judicial Package before the New Year, the general health insurance premium debts amounting to 3.2 billion liras, owed by 1 million 477 thousand people who are unable to pay, will be erased.

The proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Turkish Penal Code and Certain Laws, known as the 11th Judicial Package, will be discussed in the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and it will include regulations regarding some general health insurance premium debts.

ALL CLAIMS WILL BE WAIVED

With this regulation, all collections of unpaid general health insurance premiums prior to January 1, 2016, as well as accessory claims such as late fees and interest, will be waived.

Thus, the general health insurance premium debt of 3.2 billion lira, which 1 million 477 thousand people could not pay, will be erased.

EXPECTED TO BECOME LAW BEFORE THE NEW YEAR

This regulation, which will waive low-value claims that citizens could not pay or forgot to pay for various reasons, is expected to become law before the new year.
