Mehmet Altınöz, Deputy Chairman of the Welfare Party, commented on some mayors in his party switching to the AK Party. Altınöz stated, "As mayors elected from the Welfare Party, you should have continued your political career here, but our doors are open. Come out, repent. Come to the Welfare Party, say 'We made a mistake, we returned to our home base' and continue working with us."
After some mayors from the Welfare Party (YRP) switched to the AK Party, Mehmet Altınöz, Deputy Chairman of the Welfare Party, made noteworthy statements exclusively to Haberler.com.
Three mayors elected from other parties in the local elections on March 31 in Erzurum joined the AK Party. Hayrettin Özdemir, who was elected as the mayor of Horasan from the Good Party, Emrullah Akpunar, who was elected as the mayor of Aziziye from the Welfare Party, and Nevzat Karasu, who was elected as the mayor of Köprüköy from the Welfare Party, resigned from their parties and joined the AK Party.
Mehmet Altınöz, Deputy Chairman of the Welfare Party, was the guest of News Director Olgun Kızıltepe. Altınöz spoke about the mayors who joined the AK Party.
"YOU SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED IN POLITICS HERE"
Altınöz said, "As mayors elected by the people, as mayors elected from the Welfare Party, you should have continued in politics here. Because the people voted for you because they believed that you would do ethical municipal work. They voted for you because they believed that you would not waste. They voted for you because they believed that you would not engage in theft or corruption. Otherwise, there were many other mayoral candidates, they would have voted for them.".
"TOUGH TIMES AWAIT YOU"
Altınöz, a member of the Welfare Party, said, "What happened now? You went to the ruling party... If the people were satisfied with the ruling party, they would have voted for the ruling party's mayor. Think about this when you lay your head on the pillow at night. Tough times await you. I feel sorry for you. Because you are honest people, decent people. Instead of opening a clean page with us and making great contributions to your life, you became the mayor of the ruling party. Let's see what will happen tomorrow... I want to talk to our mayors again in a month or two. Who will benefit from this transaction?".
"OUR DOORS ARE OPEN, COME OUT, REPENT"
Altınöz, who also keeps the door open for mayors who joined the AK Party, said, "I think that our mayors will realize how wrong their actions are within a month or two, but our doors are open. Come out, repent. Come to the Welfare Party and say, 'We made a mistake, we returned to our roots,' and continue to work with us."
