The President of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, will meet with President Erdoğan in Ankara tomorrow.

The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, will visit Ankara tomorrow. In a written statement made by the KRG Presidency, it was expressed that Nechirvan Barzani will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of his official visit to Ankara tomorrow morning.

TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED DURING THE VISIT

In the statement, it was noted that Barzani will exchange views with President Erdoğan on strengthening relations between Turkey, Iraq, and the KRG, and that the parties will address recent developments in the region and various issues of mutual interest.

It is known that the relations between the KRG and Turkey have long been shaped on the basis of security, energy, and trade. However, the most important agenda item between the two sides is the presence of the PKK in northern Iraq. Turkey places great importance on the support of the KRG in its fight against the terrorist organization PKK across the border.
