The Meteorology 4th Regional Directorate issued an "orange" alert for Antalya yesterday, which was hit by heavy rainfall. Due to the downpour, some houses in the Serik district were flooded, and flooding occurred in the Şarlayık Stream. WATER FROM THE STREAM FILLED THE HOTELIn the Gündoğdu neighborhood of the Manavgat district, water overflowing from the stream flooded the ground floor of a 5-star hotel in the morning hours. The hotel, especially the pool area, as well as the restaurant, hammam, spa, kitchen, cold storage, generator, and businesses on the ground floor were submerged. 500 local and foreign tourists staying at the hotel were taken to various hotels in the district. After the inspections by the Manavgat Municipality and AFAD teams, evacuation efforts were carried out. RESCUED BY CARRYING ON HIS BACKIn the same neighborhood, Yalçın Bodur (86), who was trapped in a single-story house that was flooded, along with his daughter Filiz Bodur and son Ahmet Bodur, called for help from the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, the MAKSAT Search and Rescue Association, AFAD, and health teams were dispatched to the house. A member of the AFAD team rescued Bodur, who had difficulty walking due to his illness, by carrying him on his back. While the health teams intervened with the Bodur family, the municipal teams carried out evacuation efforts in the house and on the street. ELDERLY COUPLE TRAPPED IN THEIR HOMEIn the Akçaalan neighborhood of the Serik district, some streets, avenues, and houses were flooded. İbrahim Kozak (75) and Ayşe Kozak (72), who were trapped in their flooded home, were rescued by their children. The evacuation of the house, which had about half a meter of water, was carried out by the fire brigade teams who arrived at the scene following the report.
