The Slovenian government made a radical decision in response to the war in the Middle East blocking energy corridors. To ensure supply security, the administration imposed a daily quota on fuel sales and called upon the army and military personnel to address the logistical bottleneck.

The Slovenian government has imposed restrictions on fuel sales, limiting individual consumers' daily purchases to 50 liters, due to concerns over supply security in energy markets caused by escalating tensions in the Middle East and logistical bottlenecks.

EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN IN EFFECT

In a statement from the government, it was reported that direct intervention in fuel supply has become necessary due to fluctuations in global energy markets and blockages in the distribution chain. The statement noted that an emergency action plan prepared in response to disruptions in the distribution infrastructure has come into effect.

MILITARY INVOLVED

As part of emergency measures, the Slovenian Armed Forces have been assigned to overcome logistical obstacles in fuel shipments. As an exceptional measure, the army's transport units and military personnel will play a direct role in the process of transporting fuel from storage facilities to service stations.

FUEL QUOTA INTRODUCED

According to the regulation that will be valid nationwide, individual consumers will be able to purchase a maximum of 50 liters of fuel per day, while legal entities engaged in commercial activities and farmers will be able to purchase a maximum of 200 liters. These restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.

To minimize the negative effects of disruptions in the supply chain on the economy, a "state of emergency" has been declared in railway transportation. In this context, the Ministry of Infrastructure has been fully authorized to grant absolute priority to trains carrying fuel for the domestic market in railway traffic.

A call has been made to all distributors, including the oil company in which the state holds a 32.3% stake, to minimize delivery times. The government announced that all logistical infrastructure is being coordinated to ensure that there is no fuel shortage, emphasizing that strategic reserves are full.
