The Ministry of Trade requested that the weight of the meat used in döner, iskender, and hamburgers, which are among the most preferred products by citizens, be included in the price list. In a letter sent to the tradesmen's chambers, the Ministry stated that in cases where the same type of product is offered at different prices with different methods and measurements in establishments such as restaurants and eateries, the absence of weight information in the tariff and price lists prevents consumers from making price comparisons. CONSUMERS ARE BEING MISINFORMEDIt was pointed out that there have been numerous complaints about this issue, and it was reminded that döner and hamburgers are among the most preferred products by consumers due to their quick service and economic nature. Recently, it was emphasized that döner, which should be sold by weight as a traditional sales method, is being sold at different prices under names such as 'Döner sandwich, döner in bread, dürüm döner, service döner' by businesses like restaurant and buffet chains. It was stated that consumers are being misinformed in the sale of 'döner, iskender, and hamburger' due to the fact that iskender and hamburgers are sold in different portions at different prices. According to a report in Türkiye Gazetesi, to prevent consumer grievances, it was requested that the weight information be included in the tariff and price lists as a distinguishing feature of these foods. If the absence of this information is detected during inspections, an administrative fine will be imposed.
