All major indices close week with losses.

All major European markets closed the week with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, dropped 4.89 points, or 1.01%, to 481.16.

The UK'S FTSE 100 index closed the week at 7,542.95, down 20.9 points or 0.28%.

Germany's DAX 30 was down 0.93%, losing 148.35 points to reach 15,883.24.

Frances' CAC 40 decreased by 0.81% or 58.14 points to 7,143 points.

Italy's FTSE MIB lost 300.49 points, or 1.08%, at 27,543.96, while Spain's IBEX 35 was down 10.30 points, or 0.12%, to 8,806.6.

On Friday, stock markets in Asia closed with drops amid rising cases of the omicron variant of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Turkiye's BIST 100 index closed the week at 2,072.93 points with an increase, up 0.11%. -
