The AK Party submitted a 28-article bill to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The details of the bill, which includes regulations for family physicians, have become clear. According to the proposal, family physicians will be able to provide traditional and complementary health services to citizens for a fee outside of working hours. THE PERIOD OF CUPPING AND ACUPUNCTURE IN FAMILY MEDICINEAccording to NTV's news, if the proposal becomes law, certified family physicians will be able to perform services such as cupping and acupuncture for a fee outside of working hours. While these services will provide additional income for family physicians who perform cupping and acupuncture, it is noted that the number of specialists is low. SOME REPORTS WILL BE PAIDThere will also be regulations regarding the pricing of reports provided by family physicians. Some reports, such as the "driving license report," will be paid once the proposal becomes law. PATIENTS REFERRED TO HOSPITALS WILL PAY LESS CO-PAYMENTThose who seek second and third-level health services without first consulting primary healthcare will have to pay a co-payment. According to the proposal, if a patient first goes to a family physician, they will not have to pay a co-payment, and if the family physician refers the patient to second and third-level health services, they will pay half of the co-payment. This practice aims to reduce the congestion in second and third-level health services.
