A 19-year-old woman in the Tarsus district of Mersin narrowly escaped death. Her ex-boyfriend, with whom she had broken up some time ago, lured her into an alley under the pretense of wanting to meet. He first tried to strangle her with a charging cable and then stabbed her multiple times. After being stabbed in 10 different places, the young woman filed a complaint against her attacker following the treatment she received in the hospital.

19-YEAR-OLD YOUNG WOMAN PULLED INTO A BACK STREET

According to the information obtained, the incident took place on March 4, 2026, in the Akşemsettin neighborhood, where Nurşen Ü. (19) met her ex-boyfriend S.Y., with whom she had broken up some time ago but was in the process of reconciling. Allegedly, S.Y. directed the young woman to deserted back streets under the pretext of looking for a house. 

FIRST TRIED TO STRANGLE HER, THEN STABBED HER MULTIPLE TIMES

Here, S.Y. attempted to strangle Nurşen Ü. from behind with a phone charging cable. The attacker began to stab the young woman, who was fighting hard to save her life. According to the information in his statement, the young woman, who received a total of 10 stab wounds to her abdomen, navel, left wrist, right groin, and back, collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood.

The attacker also tried to rob the injured woman's phone but fled the scene when he was unsuccessful.

WON THE FIGHT FOR HER LIFE, FILED A COMPLAINT

With the help of nearby citizens, Nurşen Ü. was taken to Tarsus State Hospital, where she underwent 5 days of treatment and was then referred to Mersin University Faculty of Medicine Hospital due to the risk of infection. After completing an intensive treatment process lasting about a week and overcoming the life-threatening situation, the young woman went to the police as soon as she was discharged and filed a complaint against the attacker.

In her statement at the Family and Domestic Violence Prevention Bureau of the Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Nurşen Ü. stated that the individual attempted to kill her, saying, "I am a complainant against S.Y."

While a comprehensive investigation into the incident continues, efforts to capture the suspect and follow up on the judicial process are ongoing.
