Six people were killed when a helicopter crashed in the US state of West Virginia, according to authorities.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the Vietnam-era Bell UH-1B helicopter crashed Wednesday near Route 17 in Logan County around 5 p.m.
The chopper reportedly has been used for tourism flights.
According to Ray Bryant, the Chief of Operations for the Logan Emergency Ambulance Authority, the helicopter was on fire when rescue teams arrived at the scene.
The passengers were not local, he told local WSAZ television.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are reportedly investigating the accident. -
