As the winter season increasingly makes its presence felt, the General Directorate of Meteorology and AKOM have issued consecutive warnings that cold weather will continue. According to the latest forecasts by the Meteorology, it is expected that the entire country will be partly and very cloudy, with intermittent rain in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Western and Central Black Sea, the southwestern part of Eastern Anatolia, as well as in the regions of Giresun, Trabzon, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Kahramanmaraş. The precipitation is generally expected to be rain and showers, while in the inner parts of Thrace, Western and Central Black Sea, the high parts of Central Anatolia, and the southwestern part of Eastern Anatolia, mixed rain and snow are anticipated. It is expected that the precipitation will be locally strong in the eastern districts of Antalya during the afternoon hours.
ICELAND COLD IS COMING
AKOM has issued a warning for the Marmara region regarding the Iceland cold. In a statement made by AKOM, it was noted that "While the Iceland-origin cold air wave continues to be effective, it is expected that there will be intermittent rain and showers throughout the province until Thursday, with temperatures ranging between 4-8°C, remaining at winter values."
