Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that six separate organized crime groups have been dismantled through the conducted operations, and 91 suspects have been arrested. The operations were carried out in various provinces, and many criminal elements were seized.

Minister Yerlikaya stated, "The 6 separate organized crime groups led by Muhammed Kaya in Kahramanmaraş, Hasan Sağsız in Mersin, Niyazi Dönmez in Denizli, Mustafa Akel in Antalya, Ümit Öge in Gaziantep, and Turgut Yalçın in Istanbul were dismantled in the planned and project-based operations 'Kuyu-34' and 'Kuyu-35'."



6 CRIME ORGANIZATIONS DISMANTLED, 91 ARRESTS



As a result of the operations, Minister Yerlikaya noted that out of 115 suspects who are members of organized crime groups, 91 were arrested, and judicial control measures were imposed on 24 others. He provided the following information: "Organized crime groups and gangs continue to fall into the pits they have dug. Our people trust us and believe in us. Our struggle continues with their prayers and support. We will continue to dismantle organized crime groups, regardless of their size. Under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Offices and the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department; operations were conducted in 6 provinces, namely Kahramanmaraş, Mersin, Denizli, Antalya, Gaziantep, and Istanbul, by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, targeting suspects who are members of organized crime groups for establishing an organization to commit crimes, deprivation of liberty, arms and ammunition smuggling, threats (threatening with a weapon), violation of Law No. 6136, robbery, assault, coercion and violence, qualified fraud using information systems, and drug manufacturing and trafficking.



A LARGE NUMBER OF WEAPONS SEIZED



As a result of the operations, 9 unlicensed handguns, 3 unlicensed shotguns, 7 cutting/stabbing tools, various amounts of drugs, numerous POS devices, mobile phones, and SIM cards were seized.
