A reaction to the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, as part of the investigations launched against IBB for "Corruption" and "Terrorism," also came from former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "Those who are trying to take revenge on the CHP have fallen from the eyes and hearts of the people. Our pursuit of rights, law, and justice will continue. I express my support and solidarity with Mr. Ekrem."
"Corruption" and "Terror" investigations have led to the detention of 107 individuals, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, his press advisor Murat Ongun, Tuncay Yılmaz, Fatih Keleş, Ertan Yıldız, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Reform Institute President Mehmet Ali Çalışkan, and Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık.
İMAMOĞLU IDENTIFIED AS "LEADER OF A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION"
It was stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained under two separate investigations. The first allegation is "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization" within the scope of "Urban Consensus," and the second allegation is "establishing a criminal organization for profit" under Media A.Ş. İmamoğlu was defined as the "leader of a criminal organization" by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in the second investigation.
IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained due to allegations of "Leadership of a criminal organization," "establishing a criminal organization for profit," "threatening businessmen," "receiving money by influencing decisions in the municipality," "transferring bribe money to businessmen through the organization’s treasury," "transferring money to construction projects owned by İmamoğlu," and "manipulating tenders and bribery."

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu commented on İmamoğlu's detention, stating, "This intervention against the national will, law, and democracy is unacceptable. Those who seek revenge from the Republican People's Party have fallen from the eyes and hearts of the nation. Our quest for rights, law, and justice will continue. I convey my feelings of support and solidarity to Mr. Ekrem."
