Mehmet Ali Erbil, who was sentenced to house arrest on charges of illegal betting advertising and promotion, went live on TikTok. Noticing his uncomfortable demeanor, Erbil evaluated his situation by saying, "The worst part is house arrest." The famous showman also responded to a follower who asked, "When will house arrest end?"

'A DIFFICULT PROCESS'

Mehmet Ali Erbil and Serdar Ortaç, who were sentenced to house arrest by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for being involved in illegal betting advertising, had made headlines last week. Erbil, who has over 600,000 followers on TikTok, continued his social media broadcasts even while under house arrest.

Speaking to his followers during the live broadcast, the famous showman occasionally sang the song "I Couldn't Get Used To It." Erbil expressed his difficulties by saying, "This is really a very difficult process." Responding to a follower's question, "When will house arrest end?" Erbil said, "I don't know, the court will decide."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

As part of the investigation conducted by the Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for 23 people, including Mehmet Ali Erbil, Serdar Ortaç, and social media influencers, on charges of "advertising and promoting illegal betting." After their statements at the prosecutor's office, Mehmet Ali Erbil and Serdar Ortaç were referred to the Duty Magistrate's Court with a request for arrest and were placed under house arrest.
