The President of the Musicians' Rights Society (MESAM), Recep Ergül, made a statement regarding the discussions about whether Ferdi Tayfur's songs would be used without permission following his death. Recalling Tayfur's statement in an interview published years ago, "I will write a petition to MESAM, and anyone who wants can perform my songs without permission," Ergül noted that the artist did not make such a written application to MESAM. Ergül, who also published a video on the subject on MESAM's YouTube channel, stated: "Although Ferdi Tayfur made such a declaration, there is no petition submitted to MESAM in this regard. Therefore, those who wish to perform Ferdi Tayfur's songs must obtain permission from his legal heirs. Otherwise, they will face lawsuits for material and moral damages." Addressing the unpleasant incidents that occurred during Ferdi Tayfur's funeral prayer, Ergül said, "Funeral clowns emerge at the funeral ceremonies of famous and wealthy people. They show all kinds of disrespect at the funeral. I condemn in hatred the inhumane behaviors that are driven by personal gain, appearing on camera, and taking photos with celebrities." Ergül also criticized those who belittle Tayfur's personal rights and music, expressing that they will stand in solidarity with the artist's family.
