Message from İmamoğlu to CHP: Anyone who deals with this is not my companion, they betray the people.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Sultanbeyli Battalgazi Fire Station. Imamoğlu, who made statements here, warned CHP colleagues, mayors, deputies, and the top management of the party.

Imamoğlu, expressing that the people expect service from them, said, "Our people expect us to work, to take action. They expect us to be by their side in an environment where the economy is bad. We have taken on this responsibility, especially all the local managers who took office on March 31, have the responsibility to take local peace and friendship to the highest level in every part of Turkey."

"WE CANNOT WORK WITH DISCRIMINATORY MINDSET"

Imamoğlu, who said "This has no party," said, "Everyone must take on this responsibility. We cannot work with a discriminatory mindset. Even if our hand is up, we will reach out. No one should doubt that. Because we are people who have made it a principle to look at the children of the nation equally."

CLEAR MESSAGE TO CHP: IF ANYONE DEALS WITH THIS...

Imamoğlu, who said, "Especially in such a difficult period, I would like to say something clearly to my political colleagues, especially to those who do politics within CHP, or to the mayors, council members, and deputies who are part of the party's top management," said the following: "It is time to prepare for the upcoming process in the best way possible. It is time to talk about the problems of the people and find solutions to those problems. Especially, it is not the time for people who do politics in the same room, in the same place, under the same roof to say 'you stepped on my foot, you touched my arm, you looked at me harshly.' Anyone who deals with this is not my comrade, period!

The issue is a national issue. The mayor who runs in the direction of the national issue, who asks how to do his service in the best way possible, is my lifelong best comrade. A politician who says 'Ekrem İmamoğlu is running, working. I will run more, work more than him' is my oldest comrade, period! But anyone who talks about internal matters of the party, who keeps the night and day busy with these matters, and who tramples on this issue as if it were a problem, betrays both this nation and Commander-in-Chief Marshal Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. That's how clear it is!

I address every person who belongs to a political party. Party is a tool. The issue is serving the people. I see my party that way too. I am a CHP member... I know that CHP, the party I am proud to be a member of, is a tool. I do not recognize anyone for the effort to be worthy of my country and my people, I only recognize my 86 million people. This motto should be the motto of every politician."
