The overthrow of the 61-year Baath regime by armed opposition groups led by HTS and the departure of the deposed leader Bashar al-Assad marked the beginning of a new era in Syria. MINISTER YERLİKAYA SHARED DEVELOPMENTSAs many people who were forced to leave their country due to civil war and years of turmoil gradually begin to return to Syria, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared concrete figures with the press today. Minister Yerlikaya stated, "Since December 8, 52,622 Syrians have returned to their countries voluntarily, safely, honorably, and in an orderly manner." We have opened not only our border gates but also our hearts to our Syrian brothers. Because our history and culture require us to extend a hand to those in need, not to turn our backs on them. As of today, there are 2 million 880 thousand Syrians. Their honorable and safe return continues. Since 2017, the number of those who have returned safely and honorably has reached 792,625. Before Syria regained its freedom, the average monthly returns were 11,066. When we examine the 11 months before December 8, it was just slightly above 11,000. "52,622 SYRIANS RETURNED IN THE LAST MONTH" Since December 8, 52,622 Syrians have returned to their countries voluntarily, safely, honorably, and in an orderly manner. We would like to express that out of these 52,622 returning Syrian brothers, 41,000 are families, while the remaining are individuals who went alone. Since 2017, we have consulted with our charitable organizations regarding these returns. They had a request from us. If you allow us, let’s go and see if there are any deficiencies there. They said they want to go ahead this winter to address the shortcomings. A name was given by our President's instruction: Pioneer Migrant. When the head of the family applying to us under the name of Pioneer Migrant applies to the immigration administration regarding obtaining permission for them, they will be able to enter and exit during this 6-month period. In the last 40 days, AFAD has not been idle. So far, 1,958 trucks of humanitarian aid have been delivered. The other side has distributed this. For 13 years, we have never closed our doors to those who came to our border seeking refuge.
