MUHİTTİN BÖCEK TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOR THE 10TH TIME
Due to the deterioration of his health condition, Muhittin Böcek, who has been suffering from sleep apnea for a long time, was transferred to Antalya City Hospital. During the period of his detention, Böcek has been taken to the hospital multiple times due to various health issues, and with this latest transfer, he has now been taken to the hospital for the 10th time.
HEALTH CONDITION IS AT LIFE-THREATENING RISK
His lawyers stated that the disease is in an advanced stage and that he occasionally stops breathing, expressing that the situation poses a life-threatening risk.
"OXYGEN LEVELS HAVE DROPPED TO CRITICAL LEVELS"
According to the health report shared by Ali Taş from Halk TV; the polysomnography (sleep test) report from Antalya City Hospital dated January 23, 2026, was made public. The report noted that Böcek experienced numerous respiratory pauses throughout the night and that the oxygen level in his blood occasionally dropped to critical levels.
Böcek was found to have an average of 44.8 apnea and hypopnea events per hour, with his Apnea-Hypopnea Index value classified as "severe" according to medical classification. It was reported that respiratory disorders increased, especially in the supine position, and that oxygen saturation dropped to as low as 76%.
Specialist doctors recommended CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) treatment to keep the airway open during sleep. Authorities warned that if left untreated, sleep apnea could increase the risk of heart and vascular diseases, hypertension, and sudden health issues.
