Özgentürk, who addressed many topics ranging from his childhood years to his family, and from his journalism career to his personal memories, moved the audience by sharing both emotional and inspiring stories. "MY FATHER SHAVED YAŞAR KEMAL, WE HAVE NURTURED THIS LEGACY"Throughout the program, Nebil Özgentürk frequently referred to his childhood years and shared a special memory about his family. Stating that his father was a barber, Özgentürk said, "My father shaved Yaşar Kemal, Abidin Dino, and Orhan Kemal," presenting an important piece of the past. Özgentürk expressed the values his family instilled in him with the following words: "My father learned to read and write at the age of 22, but he always advised us to read and learn. The point I have reached today is a result of their efforts." He also mentioned that they established an educational unit for underprivileged children by donating their house in accordance with his father's will. "I COULDN'T ATTEND MY MOTHER'S FUNERAL, THIS IS A WOUND IN MY HEART"Özgentürk also touched upon his bond with his mother, sharing a tragedy he experienced after her death. He stated that due to some difficult periods in Turkey, he could not reach his mother's funeral on time, recounting those days with the following words: "I lost my mother when the HSCB explosion occurred, but they couldn't reach me at that moment. I had to go to my mother's funeral 19 hours later. I couldn't attend my mother's funeral due to the disgrace Turkey experienced; this is a wound I will carry in my heart for a lifetime." Özgentürk expressed that this situation left him with a deep trauma, but he held on to life with the teachings of his family. "I USED JOURNALISM AS A LADDER, BUT I NEVER COMPROMISED MY VALUES"Özgentürk, who made sincere statements about his professional career, explained the path he followed in journalism. "I viewed the press and journalism as a ladder, but I never compromised my values during this process," he said. Özgentürk mentioned that he was inspired by figures like Atilla İlhan, Yaşar Kemal, and Orhan Kemal, sharing stories of how these names touched his life. He especially recommended that young people read the works of Atilla İlhan and Yaşar Kemal more.
