Nigeria: 7 Police Officers Killed In Roadway Accident

Accident took place in northern Katsina state, leaving 7 officers from special forces unit killed, another 11 injured.

At least seven special forces police officers were killed and another 11 injured in a roadway accident in northern Nigeria last weekend, officials announced Tuesday.
The officers "died in a ghastly motor accident on 12th July, 2020 on their way to Katsina State," Nigeria Police Force tweeted.
"The deceased were part of an additional deployment made recently by the Force to boost the ongoing fight against bandits in Birnin-Gwari, Katsina State," it added.
"The unfortunate incident, which involved an 18-seater Toyota Hummer Bus conveying eighteen personnel of the Unit, occurred at Jaji town along Kaduna-Zaria Road," the tweet said. -
