Hüseyin Çelik, a founding member of the AK Party and former Minister of National Education, reacted to the Interior Ministry's appointment of trustees to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti after Esenyurt in Istanbul. Çelik stated, "Everyone who does not have a definitive judicial decision against them is innocent. The trustee issue, in its current form, is absurd. Even if the president is found guilty, there should be an opportunity for someone chosen by the Parliament to become president."

Last week, the Ministry of Interior appointed a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality in Istanbul, and yesterday morning, trustees were appointed to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti.

REACTION WAS IMMEDIATE

This move by the ministry resonated widely in the public, and a reaction came quickly from Hüseyin Çelik, a founding member of the AK Party and former Minister of National Education.

"THERE SHOULD BE A PRESIDENT CHOSEN BY THE ASSEMBLY"

In a statement made from his official X account, Çelik used the following expressions; "No one has the privilege to commit crimes and not be held accountable, regardless of their position. However, everyone who does not have a definitive judicial decision against them is innocent. The trustee issue, in this form, is absurd. Even if the president is found guilty, there should be an opportunity for someone chosen by the Assembly to become president."
