According to a poll conducted by the Washington Post following the attack on Iran by the US and Israel, a large portion of Americans do not support military actions against Iran. While 51% believe that these actions are not beneficial for long-term security, 47% of participants state that the US should stop its attacks on Iran.

According to the survey, 47% of Americans believe that Washington should stop its attacks on Iran, while 51% think that the U.S. military actions will not contribute to the country's long-term security.

The Washington Post (WP) examined the reflections of attacks on Iran in the U.S. public opinion in a survey conducted with 1,003 Americans.

THE SUPPORT FOR ATTACKS REMAINS AT 22%

When asked whether U.S. President Donald Trump supported the order for attacks on Iran over the weekend, 39% of participants strongly opposed the attacks, while 22% indicated their support.

47% WANT THE ATTACKS TO STOP

While 47% of participants believe that the U.S. should stop its attacks on Iran, 25% assessed that the attacks should continue.

31% of those surveyed shared the view that the Trump administration achieved its goals with the death of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israel attacks.

FEAR OF A WIDESPREAD WAR

Participants were asked how concerned they were about the possibility of a widespread war between the U.S. and Iran. 40% answered "very," while 11% of participants stated that they were not concerned at all about this possibility.

MORE THAN HALF BELIEVE IT DOES NOT CONTRIBUTE TO NATIONAL SECURITY

In the question regarding whether U.S. military actions contribute to the country's long-term security, participants were almost evenly split. 51% of participants believe that Washington's military initiatives will not contribute to national security in the long run, while 49% expressed the opposite view.

U.S.-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN

Israel and the U.S. launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations.

Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.

In the U.S.-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed.

The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 555 people lost their lives and 747 were injured in the bombings targeting the country.
