President Erdoğan addressed the CHP: Stop dealing with empty matters, wake up and get yourselves together.

17.01.2025 19:12

In his statements at the 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress of the AK Party in Kayseri, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the main opposition party, the CHP, saying, "While the cards are being reshuffled in global politics and as our nation's next quarter-century is being determined, stop dealing with trivial matters. Wake up and get a grip on yourselves."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the AK Party Kayseri 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress.

Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"Dear comrades in our cause and journey, beloved youth, I greet you with all my heartfelt feelings. We are in Kayseri, a city of knowledge, culture, trade, and agriculture, where our ancestors turned stone into art. We are late; please forgive us. Our departure from Konya delayed this arrival.

Today, once again, you are standing by your cause and party. I thank each of you individually for your love and loyalty. I express my gratitude to every Kayseri brother who cast their vote in favor of the People's Alliance in the local elections. In our journey to serve our nation, Kayseri has always been by our side. Our Kayseri brothers never withheld their support from us. You did not embarrass us, and we did not embarrass you. We have not strayed from the path of serving Kayseri with love. We will continue to produce and serve for Kayseri, and together with you, we will remain servants of our nation.

In the last 22 years, we have visited Kayseri countless times, and today we are here to hold our provincial congress. I hope it will be a harbinger of good for our country. I thank our friends who are passing on the blessed flag for their services and wish success to those who are taking over the flag.

"THIS IS THE CITY OF TOLERANCE AND CONSENSUS"

When we look at Kayseri, we do not just see a great success story; we see an exemplary city where brotherhood, peace, and tranquility exist. This is the city of tolerance and consensus. For this reason, leaders of unity, state founders, and heads of state will emerge from Kayseri. Folk poets will also arise from here. Kayseri is the heart of the land of the beloved Kerem; it is where its pulse beats. To understand Kayseri is to understand Turkey. Inspired by Kayseri, we are racing to serve all of Turkey. Everything we do is for the peace and well-being of Kayseri and the 80 provinces.

"MAIN OPPOSITION, WAKE UP AND GET IT TOGETHER"

Every step we take is for the bright future of 85 million people. You have been following the deplorable situation of the opposition, which has now become a source of entertainment. There is neither seriousness nor maturity among their leaders. Irresponsibility is rampant. Are they doing politics or playing games? It is unclear. If you have no opinion on issues concerning the country and the region, at least stop making jokes that make the nation laugh at you. Do not lower the quality of Turkish politics with your unserious statements. Here, I advise the main opposition party: while there are so many problems in our region, while critical developments are happening in the world, while the cards in global politics are being reshuffled, and while the next quarter-century of our nation is being determined, stop dealing with matters that are not even funny anymore. Main opposition, wake up and get it together.

"A NEW ERA HAS BEGUN IN SYRIA"

A new era has begun in Syria as of December 8. What did they tell you from Syria? As if Turkey has no business in Syria, they said, "What is Turkey doing in Syria?" They did not direct any of the criticisms or accusations brought against us to those who intervened in Syria from thousands of kilometers away. They did not ask what the U.S., the EU, or Iran were doing in Syria. They asked, "Will the YPG attack us?" Who said this? The main opposition. We heard similar sentences when we rushed to the aid of our brothers in Libya and Karabakh. They took on the role of lawyers for those who stood against us. More painfully, we were subjected to the same unprincipled approach when we raised our voices against the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. They opposed us with the poisonous tongue of the oppressors.

"HISTORY HAS JUSTIFIED US ON THE SYRIA ISSUE"

The actors of the opposition have unfortunately preferred to be extras in the dirty games of imperialists rather than standing with their own nation. History has justified us on the Syria issue as well. The Baath regime was destroyed in a matter of days. The tyrant Assad fled Syria without even looking back. Now, those who are complicit in the massacres are being held accountable one by one. The murderers are receiving the treatment they deserve. We are providing all necessary support for this.

As Turkey, our goal is to ensure the elimination of all terrorist organizations in Syria. In this way, we will guarantee our own security. As long as terrorists operate in Syria, we cannot feel completely safe. Although those who turned Syria and our region into hell with the DAESH theater are trying to set up the same trap again, this time they will not succeed. The YPG terrorist organization, which occupies one-third of the country's territory and a significant portion of its natural resources, is the biggest obstacle to security and peace in Syria. The scenarios designed in our region through this terrorist organization have lost their validity. It is near for this organization to be thrown into the trash. Another truth is this: We are leading initiatives that will turn our region into a center of civilization, embarrassing those who have turned the Middle East into a quagmire.

"WE ARE DETERMINED NOT TO LEAVE OUR SYRIAN BROTHERS ALONE"

We will embrace all humanity and elevate our civilization together with you. We will accelerate our struggle for peace, tranquility, and brotherhood to prevail throughout our region. In the coming period, we will experience and witness very important developments in this direction together. We are determined not to leave our Syrian brothers alone. We will provide the necessary facilities for the Syrian refugees in our country who wish to return to their homes voluntarily and honorably. We will not allow the opposition and some racist vandals, who have not learned from humanity, to cast a shadow over the brotherhood of the helpers and the refugees.

"STEPS ARE BEING TAKEN TO BURY THE TERRORIST MENACE"

Steps are being taken to bury the terrorist menace. Significant progress was made last week in the efforts initiated by Mr. Bahçeli. A consensus and understanding have been formed in the Parliament. In every step we take, we are careful to respect the sacred memories of our martyrs and the sensitivities of the families of martyrs and veterans. The sole aim of the People's Alliance is to end a period filled with painful memories and to open the doors to a terror-free Turkey. We have focused solely on this; we are locked onto it. Beyond this, we have no hidden or open negotiations or intentions.

"WE WILL SHOW THAT THERE IS NO PLACE FOR TERROR IN THE CENTURY OF TURKEY"

If the organization lays down its arms and acts like a real political party, the winner will be all 85 million of us. If they continue to act as puppets for the imperialists, they will have to deal with the consequences. We have the power, means, and determination to eliminate the separatist organization once and for all. This is merely a matter of time and planning for us. We have done this before. We will not hesitate to do it again. We are present in Cudi and the Vester Valley. There is no place where we are not. We have the tools to convince and compel the powers that have designs on the region. Everyone has seen that Turkey is not the old Turkey; they will see it too. Either those weapons will be laid down voluntarily, or they will be forced to lay them down.
