After the death of the leader of the Menzil Community, Elhüseyni, the inheritance dispute among his sons turned into a fight. While the repercussions of the fight, which required intervention from gendarmerie teams, continue, President Erdoğan's warning to the Menzil Community, made without naming anyone, comes to mind.
The tension regarding inheritance sharing in the Menzil Community continues. A fight broke out after one of the brothers started construction in a part of the Menzil Mosque.
"GOD WILLING, OUR STATE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"
Some members of the community were injured in the fight. A large number of gendarmerie were sent to the village. The spokesperson for the Serhendi Foundation stated, "I do not want any physical intervention from anyone. God willing, our state will do what is necessary."
ERDOĞAN'S WORDS CAME TO MIND
While the echoes of the fight in the Menzil Community continue, the words of President Erdoğan from the 7th Religious Council held a few months ago came to mind. Without naming names, Erdoğan warned the communities; pointing out that the disputes within or among civil religious structures erode public trust in these institutions, he noted that the deterioration of civil religious structures in this way prepares the ground for certain deviant formations and that bad examples lead to a loss of hope in society.
