The Ministry of Interior has eliminated the requirement for wet signatures and stamps in green and gray passport applications, transitioning fully to a digital system. With the electronic application form system, documents will be verified instantly, delays caused by missing documents will decrease, and the application process will significantly accelerate.
The Ministry of Interior has completely eliminated the requirement for traditional seals and wet signatures in applications for special (green) and service (gray) passports. With the implemented electronic request form application, document verification processes will be carried out instantly, and waits lasting for days will be completed within seconds.
BUREAUCRACY LIGHTENED WITH THE DIGITAL SYSTEM
The application process for public employees wishing to obtain green and gray passports has been completely renewed. As a result of the technological infrastructure works carried out by the Ministry of Interior, the bureaucratic burden in passport procedures has been reduced and a fully digital system has been adopted. With the new system, it is aimed that application processes proceed in a much more practical, fast, and secure manner.
THE ERA OF PRINTED DOCUMENTS HAS ENDED
In the past, request forms for personnel who gained the right to a passport had to be prepared as printed documents by their own institutions. With the new regulation, this document traffic has been shelved. Now, documents prepared by the institutions of the rights holders are sent directly to the Central Population Administration System (MERNIS) with electronic signatures and digital approvals.
WAITING TIME REDUCED TO A MINIMUM
The biggest advantage of moving transactions to the electronic environment has been time savings. With the new system, forms sent to population directorates can be verified simultaneously through the system. Delays caused by incomplete or erroneous documents, frequently encountered in the past, have been eliminated. The waiting time of citizens at the counters has been reduced to a minimum level.
