Critical decisions regarding promotions, appointments, retirements, and duty term extensions in the Turkish Armed Forces will be shaped at the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) meeting to be held tomorrow. For the first time this year, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, and Commander of the Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, will take part in the Council.

The Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) will convene tomorrow under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting will address agenda items regarding promotions, appointments, retirements, and term extensions in the Turkish Armed Forces.

THREE NAMES TO PARTICIPATE FOR THE FIRST TIME

The meeting will commence after YAŞ members visit Anıtkabir. This year, for the first time, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, and Land Forces Commander General Metin Tokel will take part in the Council.

PROMOTION, APPOINTMENT, AND RETIREMENT FILES TO BE REVIEWED

During the Council, the files of personnel to be promoted from colonel to general or admiral, as well as generals and admirals to be promoted to the next rank, will be evaluated. Personnel planned to be retired due to lack of posts or age limits will also be determined.

In addition to promotion and retirement files, potential duty changes within the force commands will also be on the meeting's agenda.

The decisions taken in YAŞ will be shared with the public after the approval of President Erdoğan.
