An investigation has been launched regarding the allegation that sacrificial donations were not fulfilled at the BolSev Foundation, which is affiliated with the Bolu Municipality. It has been revealed that the foundation sent messages to citizens stating "Your sacrifice has been slaughtered" or "May Allah accept it" regarding the animals that were not slaughtered after the donations. Victims who said, "I do not forgive" went to the prosecutor's office to file a complaint.

Citizens living in different cities claimed that their sacrificial donations made to the BolSev Foundation, affiliated with the Bolu Municipality, were not fulfilled. Following the complaints, the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation. It is stated that the number of victims in the incident may increase.

10 PEOPLE HAVE APPLIED TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

According to the information obtained, 10 people from different provinces made sacrificial donations to the BolSev Foundation, affiliated with the Bolu Municipality. It was reported that the donors filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office after learning that their religious duties were not fulfilled.

MESSAGE "MAY ALLAH ACCEPT" FOR THE UNKILLED SACRIFICE

The victims stated that they reached the foundation through social media advertisements, brochures, or recommendations from acquaintances. It was alleged that after the donation, some individuals received feedback via phone or message saying, "Your sacrifice has been slaughtered" and "May Allah accept." However, some donors indicated that they later learned that their sacrifices had not been slaughtered.

SOME DONORS RECEIVED NO RESPONSE AT ALL

Some of the complainants stated that they were informed that the slaughter had been carried out, while others expressed that they received no feedback at all.

"I DO NOT FORGIVE MY RIGHTS"

Victims who realized that the sacrificial animals they donated were not slaughtered and could not fulfill their religious duties reacted by saying, "I do not forgive my rights." After the incident, the victims went to the prosecutor's office to file a complaint.

THE INVESTIGATION MAY EXPAND

It was learned that new victims may emerge within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Authorities have particularly scrutinized donation calls made through social media.

4 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED

As part of the investigation into 'extortion through coercion' conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, last month Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can were arrested, and on April 6, CHP Council Member Cihan Tutal, Financial Affairs Director Naim Ayhan, and BolSev Foundation Member Ali Sarıyıldız were also arrested.

Yesterday, Bolu Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP Council Member Aydan Özdemir were detained by the gendarmerie. It was stated that the two suspects detained were also board members of the BolSev Foundation, established by Tanju Özcan, who is currently in custody as part of the investigation. The reason for the detention was reported to be the failure to slaughter the sacrificial donations collected during last year's Eid al-Adha for the BolSev Foundation. Yesterday, the two suspects were brought to court after their questioning by the gendarmerie.

As part of the investigation, Tanju Özcan, who is detained in prison, gave a statement via the Audio and Visual Information System, and Ali Sarıyıldız was also brought to the courthouse to give a statement to the prosecutor's office. All four suspects denied the allegations during their interrogations.

Four suspects were referred to the magistrate's court with a request for arrest on the charge of 'qualified fraud' for not evaluating the sacrificial donations collected last year for slaughter and allegedly transferring them to BolSev. Leyla Beykoz and Aydan Özdemir, who were brought before the magistrate's court, were arrested. It was also decided to arrest Tanju Özcan and Ali Sarıyıldız, who are detained on the charge of 'extortion through coercion,' within the scope of this investigation.
