ANIMAL ENTRY AND EXIT HAS BEEN PROHIBITED
Due to the outbreak of sheep pox in the sheep and goats of a citizen's small ruminant farming operation in Çalık village, a quarantine application has been initiated in 6 villages. The entry and exit of live animals have been prohibited in the quarantined villages of Çalık, Sağdıçlar, Büklümlü, Ulupınar, Bahçeli, and Bademli.
WHAT IS SHEEP POX?
Sheep pox, which occurs in small ruminants (sheep and goats), is known as sheep pox and goat pox. It is a highly contagious viral disease that is particularly dangerous for herds.
Symptoms:
- High fever, weakness, loss of appetite
- Eye and nose discharge
- Bumps and crusty sores on the face, ears, around the lips, udder, and abdominal area
