In an operation targeting crime networks and underground organizations in Istanbul and Balıkesir, 13 associates of T.A., who is alleged to have managed the gang from prison, were arrested.
The teams of the Organized Crime Fighting Branch of the Istanbul Police Department conducted a new operation against gangs within the framework of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the operations against crime networks and underground organizations, the activities of a criminal organization led by T.A., who is imprisoned, operating in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, were scrutinized by the organized police.
OPERATION WITH SPECIAL FORCES
As a result of the technical and physical surveillance, simultaneous operations were carried out this morning at many addresses in Istanbul and Balıkesir against suspects involved in actions such as "Qualified Robbery," "Deprivation of Liberty," "Article 6136," and "Armed Threat." In the raids, which also included special operations teams, 13 suspects were captured and taken into custody. During the searches conducted at the residences and workplaces of these individuals, a non-licensed submachine gun, 7 gun slide covers, 1 barrel, 2 magazines, and metal parts used in weapon manufacturing were seized.
13 PEOPLE IN CUSTODY
The 13 suspects who were captured and taken into custody were sent to the Istanbul Police Department for questioning. It was reported that the investigation regarding the gang members in custody is ongoing.
