The diplomatic normalization between Syria and Saudi Arabia has been elevated to a strategic level with a major economic move. The two countries have signed a comprehensive investment package that includes the establishment of a joint airline company, while deciding to join forces for the reconstruction of Syria after years of ongoing conflicts.
Syria and Saudi Arabia have signed a historic cooperation package that will elevate their economic ties to the highest level after years of disconnection. The agreements announced under the auspices of Syria's interim leader Ahmed al-Shara at the People's Palace in Damascus cover critical sectors such as aviation, energy, telecommunications, and infrastructure.
JOINT AIRLINE AND DIGITAL REVOLUTION
Talal al-Hilali, head of the Syrian Investment Authority, confirmed that a joint airline company will be established to strengthen air connectivity between the two countries. In addition to this giant step, the "Silk Link" project aims to modernize Syria's digital infrastructure and expand telecommunications networks.
SAUDI CAPITAL ON THE WAY TO SYRIA: ELAAF FUND ESTABLISHED
Saudi Arabia's Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih announced that the Elaaf Investment Fund has been activated to support Syria's recovery process. The biggest obstacle to cross-border investments, bank transfer channels, has also been reactivated. The aviation giant Flynas has also become a pioneer of this new era by choosing Syria as its first overseas investment destination.
The cooperation package in strategic sectors is not limited to trade:
Water management: The infrastructure crisis is targeted with a giant water agreement supported by ACWA Power.
Energy: The development of the Syrian Modern Cable Company and energy projects will increase production capacity.
Saudi Minister Abdullah al-Svaha stated that Syria is now moving "in the right direction," sending a strong message of confidence to the region. The Saudi Minister said that investment initiatives send a clear signal of confidence based on the deep historical and cultural ties between Syria and Saudi Arabia.
