In a traffic accident that occurred in the Torbalı district of İzmir, Burcu Tek, a mother of three, lost her life after being struck by a car that veered onto the sidewalk. It was learned that Tek had left home to bring lunch to her children, and her death caused great sorrow in the district. Residents, noting that similar incidents have frequently occurred in the area, blocked the road, leading to a scuffle between security forces and citizens.
A 45-year-old mother of three, Burcu Tek, lost her life after a car that went out of control mounted the sidewalk in the Torbalı district of İzmir. It was learned that the unfortunate woman had left her home to bring food to her children.
CAR THAT SWERVED TO THE SIDEWALK TOOK A LIFE
The accident occurred in the afternoon in the Kuşçuburun neighborhood. According to reports, the car with license plate 35 FS 692, driven by Y.B., mounted the sidewalk after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. After hitting Burcu Tek, who was walking on the sidewalk, the vehicle crashed into a parked car.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined during the check that Burcu Tek had lost her life. It was stated that Tek had set out to bring food to her children at school.
NEIGHBORS BLOCKED THE ROAD
After the accident, local residents blocked the road, claiming that traffic accidents frequently occurred in the area. The group, which demanded the district governor come to the scene, was warned by gendarmerie and traffic police to clear the road.
A brief scuffle occurred between the crowd, which did not disperse despite the warnings, and the security forces. The teams intervened with tear gas.
While an investigation into the accident was initiated, it was learned that the car driver Y.B. had been taken into custody.
