The intelligence reports published under the "documents" section in the "Special Collection" tab on the official website of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) have been updated with a new addition. 90-YEAR-OLD INTELLIGENCE DOCUMENT PUBLISHEDThis document is a 1935 intelligence report stating that Walter Collins, a Times correspondent, was essentially working for the National Security Service (MAH) through a contact he had. The report dated February 2, 1935, included the following statements: "Collins returned to Istanbul on January 28, 1935. From there, he met with Mr. Nurettin, one of the newspaper correspondents, and engaged him as an Ankara correspondent. Mr. Nurettin will show us the telegrams he will write for Collins and the directives he will receive from him. ROBERTSON INSTEAD OF ATATÜRK, SMITH INSTEAD OF İSMET İNÖNÜIn his first instruction, he stated that he should use the names Robertson instead of Atatürk, Smith instead of İsmet İnönü, and Brown instead of Marshal Fevzi Çakmak. He mentioned that in his absence, Canut would take his place and that his address was the Fındıklı-Exelsior hotel. I wish to follow and report Collins' communication and contacts with Ankara through Mr. Nurettin here."
