Hakiki Koç Tourism, one of Turkey's oldest bus transportation companies, has declared bankruptcy after 63 years of operation. Unable to withstand the economic crisis and management difficulties, the company decided to withdraw from the market. Established in 1963 in Izmir, Hakiki Koç Tourism had gained a significant position in the transportation sector by organizing both domestic and international trips for many years. However, this closure decision has left hundreds of employees unemployed. MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS WERE OCCURRINGHakiki Koç Tourism started experiencing management problems after the death of its founder, Mehmet Niyazoğlu. Allegations were made that the company was sold to Asya Tur in 2010, but Hakiki Koç could not maintain its presence in the sector for a long time. The company's website became inactive, and bus trips were suddenly halted. THE END OF AN ERA IN THE TRANSPORTATION SECTORThe company's first fleet consisted of four 1960 model Mercedes buses. Starting from Izmir and expanding to major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, and Eskişehir, Hakiki Koç provided services in a wide area. Over time, it grew with international trips. The international transportation services, starting with countries like Greece, Bulgaria, Germany, and Belgium, demonstrated the company's success beyond borders. Additionally, between 1968 and 1978, it expanded its service network internationally by organizing Hajj trips to Saudi Arabia. The bankruptcy of Hakiki Koç Tourism marks the end of a long era in Turkey's transportation sector.
