The janitor accused of molesting two students in a primary school in Kırşehir, while admitting to the charges in court, defended his actions. The defendant acknowledged that he should not have kissed the children and requested a mental evaluation.
The defendant, who is accused of sexually abusing two primary school students at the school where he has been working as a janitor since 2023 in Kırşehir, said in court, "I knew what would happen to me." M.U., who works as a janitor at Ziya Kılıçözü Primary School in Kırşehir, was arrested and sent to prison on charges of abusing two students at the school. The defendant appeared before the Kırşehir Heavy Penal Court with his lawyer and the lawyers of the two victims. The defendant M.U. attended the hearing via SEBGİS method from Yozgat Boğazlıyan prison, where he is being held.

The defendant M.U., who defended himself in court, admitted his guilt and said that he should not have kissed the children. He requested to be punished by planting trees and said, "My statements were distorted. They were made to sign without being read to me. They considered me guilty without a doubt. While I was cleaning, the children came and suddenly hugged me. So, I kissed both girls on their lips."

When asked why he made the victim child, K.T., sit on his lap, M.U. said that he made the child sit on his lap but not for sexual purposes. He said, "I made her sit on my lap to remove the gum stuck in her hair. She stayed on my lap for a couple of minutes." The court, where the victims' families and the children were heard under the supervision of a psychologist, decided to continue the defendant's detention in order to investigate whether his mental state is sound and adjourned the trial to a later date.
