Emre E. (33), who got married in Istanbul 2 years ago, filed for divorce from his wife Feyza K.E. (29) on the grounds that she disturbed the environment by vacuuming the house late at night in the 9th month and endangered his life by driving fast. While the couple's divorce case is ongoing, Feyza K.E.'s lawyer, Ümit Erdoğan, stated, "Honestly, we couldn't find a real reason for divorce. We struggled to respond." Technician Emre E. united his life with interior designer Feyza K.E., with whom he had been in a relationship for 3 years, in 2022. Nine months after their marriage, Emre E. applied to the Anadolu Emergency Family Court to file for divorce. In his petition, Emre E. stated that despite his warnings, his wife vacuumed the house late at night and drove fast due to jealousy while he was in the car. Emre E. also demanded 200,000 lira in moral compensation and 300,000 lira in material compensation. "YOU ALWAYS THINK OF OTHERS"The petition included the following statements: "She has not hesitated to disturb the people around her. Despite the request of their downstairs neighbors, who have a baby, not to operate the machine at night during the third week of their marriage, the defendant continued to operate the machine and vacuum the house late at night. When my client warned her, she argued with him by saying, 'You always think of others.' Subsequently, it was stated that there were complaints against her by the manager two more times, and the defendant started arguing with my client over a woman she saw on the road or in the parking lot, and again, when they went out, she drove the car very fast, endangering both my client's and her own life." Feyza K.E., in her response to the opposing party's petition, stated that none of the alleged events reflect the truth and demanded 1 million lira in compensation. "YOU NEED TO INCLUDE REAL EVENTS"Feyza K.E.'s lawyer, Ümit Erdoğan, said, "The couple has been married for about 9 months, and then the husband filed for divorce. There are many reasons for divorce here, and this is one of them. However, driving fast alone cannot be a reason for divorce. The reason for the case is the fundamental disruption of the family unity. However, you need to include concrete and real events within this general reason. This situation alone is not sufficient," he said. "IT SEEMS MORE LIKE AN EXCUSE"Regarding the allegations that Feyza K.E. operated electrical appliances at night, lawyer Erdoğan stated, "My client is a working woman and it is normal for her to come home around 8:00-9:00 PM and do these tasks. Of course, many events can be listed under the reason for the fundamental disruption of the family unity; however, these events must be concrete and real. The allegations here seem more like an excuse rather than a real reason," he said. "SHE STATED THAT SHE DID NOT WANT A DIVORCE"Erdoğan stated, "When this case came to us, the husband had already filed for divorce. My client stated that she did not want a divorce because she loved her husband, and we submitted a response petition accordingly. Honestly, we couldn't find a real reason for divorce. We struggled to respond. It is difficult to present the issues related to the hours when electrical appliances were operated as a reason for divorce. You can't really find much to write against this," he said. On the other hand, while the divorce case has been contentious since September of last year, no decision has been made in the most recent third hearing of the case.
