SUSPICIOUS OF THE STONES, SENT FOR EXAMINATION
Hıyasettin Senem (56), a farmer living in the village of Yünören in the Korkut district of Muş, found interesting stones weighing 40 kilograms in his field while picking mushrooms last year. Suspecting that the stones he found might be meteorites, Senem sent them to İzmir 9 Eylül University for examination. The analysis confirmed that the stones were of the chondrite type meteorite.
"WE CURRENTLY HAVE 40 KILOS OF METEORITE"
Hıyasettin Senem, who stated that he has about 20 meteorites of various sizes in his possession, said, "Last year, I found stones in the field where I went mushroom picking. These stones caught my attention. We suspected that these stones might be meteorites and sent them to the laboratory at İzmir 9 Eylül University for examination. The results confirmed that the stones we have are meteorites. We currently have 40 kilograms of meteorite. The analyses confirmed that they are indeed chondrite meteorites."
