Former referee Ali Palabıyık made striking statements in a program he participated in on Ekol TV. He shared shocking confessions about the Fenerbahçe-Beşiktaş derby he officiated during a certain period.
''I COULDN'T GO OUT ON THE STREET"
Palabıyık responded to the question, ''Which match was the most challenging for you due to the decisions you made?'' with a confession that will be widely discussed.
Palabıyık said, ''The Fenerbahçe-Beşiktaş match, which Fenerbahçe won 2-1. There were 5 red cards on the field. I showed a red card to Şenol Güneş. The decisions I made on the field were highly debated. At that time, there was no VAR. We disallowed a goal scored by Beşiktaş due to offside. The two weeks following the match were really tough for me. Because I couldn't go out on the street. There was a penalty I missed for Cenk Tosun. I couldn't go out for 2 weeks. I had to change my number. The Beşiktaş fans had a legitimate outcry, but they found my number and disturbed me," he said.
